Clayton County Register, Thur., 10 Feb. 1927. Guttenberg columns.
Miss Lucille Louise Jungk passed away at the home of her uncles and aunts, the August Jungk home, in this city, on Monday morning at four o'clock, after an illness of long duration, and at the age of 18 years, 6 months and 19 days. Deceased was born in Guttenberg, Iowa, on July 19, 1908, where her entire life was spent. Her mother preceded her in death 15 years ago. For a number of years she had been making her home with her uncles and aunts, William, Henry and George and Miss Anna Jungk here, where she always received the best of care. She attended the Guttenberg public school. She had been in poor health for some time before death called her, but was always a young lady of a happy and pleasing personality, which won for her many warm friends during life. During her illness she was a patient sufferer and had hopes of recovery until the Angel of Death called her to the other and better world, where there is no more suffering, but joy and happiness forever. All that loving hands could do and medical knowledge could suggest was done for her to save her life, but all to no avail. She was a faithful member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church and she was ever ready with heart to do acts of kindness for those she loved, and was always the sunshine of the Jungk home. On Sunday all endeared to her could see that the Heavenly Father was calling her to care for her forever, as she became unconscious and passed unto Him who receives all suffering and brings joy and happiness forever, and on Monday morning she peacefully passed into eternity, that Great World of Happiness. Her untimely death is deeply mourned by two sisters, the Misses Viola and Evelyn Jungk, of this city, besides numerous other relatives and friends, who will all sadly miss this good and true sister and niece. Funeral services were held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in this city on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Emil Lehne officiating. The body was laid to rest in the City cemetery. The funeral was largely attended which showed that deceased was held in the highest of esteem by all in this community.
