Mrs. Mary Rantzow, a pioneer resident of Garnavillo, passed away at her home there on Sunday. She was past 70 years old and had been blind for many years. Deceased was born in Germany, where she grew to womanhood, and where she married Mr. C. Rantzow, who preceded her in death a number of years ago. Many years ago the family came to America, settling at Garnavillo, Iowa, where she spent the rest of her life. She is survived by two sons, Carl and Paul Rantzow of Garnavillo, one grandson and numerous other relatives and friends. Mrs. Rantzow was a kind and loving mother and friend, and will be sadly missed by all. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran church. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran church at Garnavillo on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. K. Wm. Braun officiating. The body was laid to rest in the Garnavillo cemetery.
