William L. Lange died Saturday morning, January 8, after a brief illness, at the Finley hospital, Dubuque.
Mr. Lange was born in Mederville, Ia., Nov. 16, 1863. He had lived in Dubuque for the last 23 years. For many years he was employed as a bridge carpenter for the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul railroad, and of late was connected with the Olson Construction Co.
One daughter, Mattie, of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Charles, Hugo, and Ray Lange; and three sisters, Mrs. J. W. Marshall of Bellingham, Wash., Mrs. Gus Mentzel of Elkader, and Mrs. William Reichert of Littleport, Ia., survive him. His wife died 25 years ago.
Mr. Lange was a member of Mosaid Lodge No. 125, A.F. & A.M. of Dubuque, and DeMolay Consistory at Clinton, Ia.
The remains were brought to Mederville Monday and funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Chas. Lange home, with Rev. C. H. Franke of this place officiating. Masonic services, conducted by the local lodge, were held at the grave and interment was made at the Mederville cemetery.
