Funeral services for Mrs. Ralph Leppert, 64, Were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock from the Schultz Funeral home to Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethern church at 2 o'clock with Rev. A. W. Ebert officiating. Burial was in the Smithfield cemetery.

Mrs. Leppert died Monday morning, Feb. 7, at the McGregor hospital from a lingering disease.

As Alma Albertina, she was born the daughter of John and Maria Borg, Oct. 26, 1890, in Ekelacken Brandstrop, Sweden. She came to America when a young girl and settled in Chicago, Ill.

She was married to Andrew Johnson and to this union two sons were born, Delver and Russell. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Johnson moved with her two sons to Iowa.

She was married to Ralph Leppert, Nov. 2, 1927. Their first years of married life were spent on a farm in Allamakee county. Later they moved to Monona, where they have lived to the present time.

While a resident in Chicago, Mrs. Leppert was a member of the Swedish Lutheran church. After moving to Iowa, she with her husband became members of the Forest Mills Evangelical United Brethern church, later transferring their membership to Pilgrim church. She was also a member of the W.S.W.S. of Pilgrim church.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Russell, who gave his life to the service of his country in World War II, June 18, 1944, at Saipan Island.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Leppert is survived by one son, Delver Johnson; three sisters, Mrs. Carl (Thora) Lindquist and Mrs. Arthur (Helga) Borgeson of Santa Barbara, Calif., and one sister in Sweden; two brothers, Carl Borg of Chicago, Ill., and one brother in Sweden; and two grandsons.

Music at the services was provided by Mrs. Justus Kammerer, soloist, who sang "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Under His Wings." Mrs. Ebert was the organist.

Pall bearers were: Donald, Robert, and Howard Leppert, Arthur Swenson, Norman Amundson and Robert Schlitter.

This submitter is her grandson and always knew her given name as Anna, rather than by Alma as stated in her obit. The Smithfield Cemetery is in Allamakee County, and a gravestone photo is on the IGPP.)
