Mayhew, Martha died 1871

Died - In Farmersburg, Feb. 10th, 1871, Martha, wife of H.C. Mayhew, aged 47 years and 8 days.

Deceased was born in Chautauqua County, N.Y. she gave her heart to the Saviour and joined the M.E. Church in early life. She removed to Farmersburg in 1858*, where she has since resided, beloved by all whose privilege it was to enjoy her acquaintance.

Although she leaves no relatives here outside of her own family, which consists of husband and two sons, yet many mourn her as a beloved sister; all as a dear friend.

*Transcriber's note: This possibly is 1853, the number being difficult to read. Burial is in the National cemetery.
