Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 11 Dec. 1919.

Mrs. W. W. Davidson passed away this morning at 9:30 o'clock at her home in Elkader, after a long illness of diabetes, aged forty years and five months.

Mrs. Davidson has been in failing health for several years and nearly two years ago it was discovered that she was a victim of diabetes. Treatment at various sanitariums with all that medical skill and devoted care could do was of no avail against the progress of the disease, and since last spring she has been confined to her room.

Amelia E. Beer was born July 11, 1879, in Highland township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Beer. Coming to Elkader with her parents in 1882 she grew to womanhood here. She graduated from the Elkader High School in 1897. She was married to W. W. Davidson, of this place, November 6th, 1901. One daughter Ruth Marie, born April 6th, 1911, came to cheer and bless their home.

Besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. Davidson is survived by her mother, two brothers, Will Beer, now in the Philippine Islands, and Ed. of Elkader; four sisters, Mrs. John Kohler of West Bend, Mrs. E. E. Gehring of Wadena, Mrs. R. F. Schmidt of Elkader, and Mrs. Wm. Ebendorf of Waukon, together with other relatives and many friends.

She was a member of Charity Chapter O.E.S. and of the local chapter of the P.E.O. sisterhood and took an active part in the affairs of both until failing health prevented.

Her life centered about her home and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother, a true sincere friend, a kind neighbor, going to the limit of her health and strength to serve those near and dear to her.

The funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the residence, Rev. C. H. Franke officiating. Interment will be in the East Side cemetery.

The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved family and friends.
