Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 6 Nov. 1919.

Jacobine Schraft Mueller was born in Dennack, Wuertemberg, Germany, Feb. 26th, 1840, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. C. Reuschel, at Elkport, Monday, Nov. 3rd, 1919, at one o'clock p.m. at the advanced age of seventy-nine years. Mrs. Mueller has been in poor health for the past thirty-five years, but her death was from old age.

Deceased was united in marriage to John Kull in 1859 while still in Germany. Two years later, in 1861, they came to America and finally landed in this country after spending sixty days in a sailing vessel on the ocean. Immediately after landing they came west and settled at Dubuque, where Mr. Kull died in 1867. In 1870 deceased was united in marriage to Herman Mueller, in Dubuque, and in 1873 they settled in this county which has been their home ever since.

Mrs. Mueller is survived by her aged husband, one son, two daughters and a foster daughter: Herman F. Mueller of this place, the only child of the second union; Emelia Reuschel of Elkport and Cecelia Lungwitz of Dubuque, both of the first marriage; and Mrs. Rose Nuehring of Guttenberg, who came to the family when she was eight years of age and remained with them until the time of her marriage to Earnest Nuehring. Also a sister, Mary Grassle of Dubuque.

Deceased had been visiting with her daughters in Dubuque for some time, but Thursday, October 23rd, returned to the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. C. Reuschel, where she passed into eternal rest last Sunday.

She was a member of the Lutheran church all her life and was also a member of the Elkport Frauen Verein and her presence in the home and the church will be missed by all.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Evangelical church here, with Rev. C. H. Franke officiating. Interment was made in the East Side cemetery. The people of Elkader and Elkport tender their sympathy to the aged husband and children in their deep loss.
