Fannie Christ Patterson was born in Deleware, Ohio, July 12, 1837, and died at the home of her son, A. H. Patterson, at Turlock, Calif., Tuesday, July 22, 1919, at the advanced age of 82 years and 10 days.

Deceased came to Clayton county and located in Wagner township and on October 6, 1861, was united in marriage with Aaron Patterson. Two daughters, Estella and Elsie, and one son, A. H., were born to this union. One daughter, Elsie, and the husband preceded her in death. The remaining daughter and son gave their mother the most loving and tender care and the latter accompanied the remains to Elkader for burial.

Short services were held at the home of Dr. H. S. Patterson and then at the Congregational church, Rev. C. H. Franke officiating. Interment was made in the East Side cemetery.

Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Ocean Park M.E. church and beloved by all who knew her. She had been an extreme but patient sufferer for more than four years and death came as a great relief.
