Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 11 Dec. 1913. Guttenberg column.

On Monday afternoon at the sanitarium at Prairie du Chien, Wis., where she had undergone an operation, occurred the death of Mrs. Jesse F. Moser, nee Emma Henrietta Kickbush, at the age of 22 years, 1 month and 23 days. Deceased was born in Millville township, Clayton County, Iowa, on October 8, 1891, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kickbush, Sr., and lived in this county all of her life. On June 7, 1911, she was united in marriage to Jesse F. Moser, of Millville township where the happy young couple made their home on a farm. She had been ailing for some time and on Tuesday of last week she was taken to the sanitarium at Prairie du Chien, where she underwent an operation for tumor on Wednesday. The operation was successful and she was getting along nicely until Sunday night, when meningitis developed, from which she rapidly grew worse and died on Monday afternoon at three o'clock. The sad news of her death came as a shock to her many relatives and friends. She was a kind and true wife, daughter and sister, and will be missed by all who knew her. Besides her husband, her death is deeply mourned by her parents, three sisters, Mrs. Geo. M. Jacobs, Guttenberg; Mrs. Wm. Meyer and Mrs. Wm. Blume, of Millville township; four brothers, Herman, William and Charles Kickbush, Jr., of Millville township, and John Kickbush, of the state of Washington, and a large circle of relatives and friends. The remains were brought here Tuesday and the funeral was held in this city Thursday, Attorney Chas. E. Scholz officiating. The funeral was largely attended. Interment was made in the city cemetery.
