On Friday morning, at 10:45 o'clock, at her home in this city, occurred the death of Mrs. Frank Rolfes, Sr., nee Katherine Eilers, after suffering for some time with cancer. Deceased was born at Guttenberg, Iowa, on May 29, 1856, and therefore was 57 years, 5 months and 2 days of age at the time of her death. On November 23, 1875, she was married at Luxemburg to Frank Rolfes. Her death is deeply mourned by her husband, three sons, Frank, of Waterloo; George and Joseph, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Henry Matt and Mrs. Geo. F. Desotel, of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Wm. Hoefer, of Le Mars, Iowa; two brothers, Henry and Ben Eilers, of Guttenberg, two sisters, Mrs. Joe Uehle, of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Anna Bornhorst, of Le Mars, Iowa, and a large circle of friends and relatives, by whom she will be sadly missed., as she was a true wife, mother, sister and friend, always ready with heart and hand to help those in need. Funeral services were held in St. Mary's Catholic church in this city Monday morning Rev. Father Brinkman officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
