On Monday, at his home at Clayton, occurred the death of Peter Peterson, at the age of about 65 years, the cause of his death being heart trouble. Deceased leaves a family. The funeral was held Thursday.

Peter Heinrich Peterson was born on August 1, 1845, in Werbeck, Schlesswig, Holstein. In 1873 he was united in marriage to Anna Henricksen, of Wadernpield. In 1892 the deceased came to America to join his sons, Peter and Henry, who had been in America for some time. About four months later the family followed them. They settled in Milwaukee, where he labored as a mason. In 1895 the family came to Garnavillo, where they remained until 1910, at which time they took up their abode in Clayton. Here on Monday evening, at eight o'clock, he passed away, his death being due to heart trouble., of which he suffered more or less for the past seven years.
This union was blessed with nine children, four having preceded the father in death. Those living are Henry and Minnie and Mrs. H. A. Heuer, of Chicago, and Mrs. Fred Fehlhafer and Albert, of Garnavillo. He also leaves a sister in Germany and four grandchildren, besides the sorrowing wife.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Rev. Braun officiating.
