Leslie Drahn Services Held
Funeral services for Leslie Lawrence Drahn of Strawberry Point, were held Monday May 26, 1980 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Strawberry Point. The Rev. Palmer E. Sevig officiated. Burial was in the Strawberry Point Cemetery.
Leslie Drahn, son of Henry and Mathilda (Schiff) Drahn was born in Farmersburg Township Aug. 12, 1904. He was baptized and later confirmed in Garnavillo Lutheran Church.
He was married to Frieda Wiegert at the home of her parents, LaMotte, Iowa.
They lived on the home farm near Farmersburg for a time and then bought a farm near Strawberry Point. He was an active member of the St. Sebald Lutheran Church serving on the church council. Later due to failing health they both entered the Strawberry Point Lutheran Nursing Home where he and Frieda had the honor of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary in February of this year. He passed away Friday May 23 at the Lutheran Home.
He is survived by his wife Frieda. Three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Phyllis) Lubbers, Farmersburg; Mrs. Harold (Berdina) Neverman, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Almira Schweikert, Salem, Oregon. Two brothers, Elvie Drahn, Monona and Elmer Drahn, Farmersburg and nieces and nephews and many friends.
