Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 30 Jan. 1913. Elkport and Vicinity column.

On last Friday morning the sad news reached us of the death of Charles Hansel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Hansel, his death being caused by Bright's disease. Charles had been sick but a short time and his death is a great shock to his many friends. Two weeks ago he was taken to Minneapolis for medical treatment, but nothing could be done to help him and it was decided to bring him home. He grew worse and was only taken as far as Chester, Iowa, where he died, Friday. The remains were shipped here Saturday. Charley was 22 years of age and was a kind-hearted and upright young man and was greatly liked by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn him his mother and father, three sisters and a number of relatives, with whom we deeply sympathize. He was buried at the Brown cemetery near Colesburg on Monday, Rev. Ingram officiating. May he rest in peace.
