At the home of his son Fred three and a half miles south of Guttenberg John Frederick Mueller peacefully passed away last Friday, May 17, 1907, at the ripe old age of 78 years, 10 months and 23 days. He had not been enjoying the best health the past few years owing to the infirmities of advanced age, but was apparently feeling as well as usual up to within four hours of his death, when a stroke of apoplexy rendered his condition beyond hope and which terminated in his death at a few minutes after 9:00 o'clock Friday evening.
