Mrs. Amelia Schnieder died at McGregor Friday May 24th, at the age of eighty-one years. Since 1852 deceased was a resident of Guttenberg until after the death of her Husband, Henry Schnieder, seven years ago. She has since made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Schneider, at McGregor. She had been afflicted with stomach trouble for the past fifteen years. She is survived by three children: John, of Madison, Wis.; Mrs. Anton Schneider, of McGregor; and Henry, of Guttenberg, and a sister, Mrs. Mathilda Sieberts, of Garnavillo. Her remains were brought to Guttenberg, Saturday afternoon, and taken to St. Mary's church for obsequies by Rev. J. H. Brinkmann. Interment was in the old Catholic cemetery beside her husband.
