Washington Duerr committed suicide at West McGregor Tuesday morning with a shotgun. He was about 28 years old. He leaves a wife.

From the Wed., 27 Feb. 1907 issue of the "McGregor News," page 5, column 4:
Suicide.
Washington Duerr got up Tuesday morning about six o’clock, went out into the yard, at his home in West McGregor, with a shot-gun placed at his heart and with a stick pulled the trigger, killing himself instantly. He was born and grew to manhood in this city; was about 38 years old. He leaves a wife, mother, sisters and brothers to mourn his untimely death. Coroner Bierman [sic: Beerman] of Guttenberg held an inquest with the following jurors: F. L. Church, A. C. Boyle and Wm. Daubenberger; verdict, suicide.
