The young couple made Farmersburg their home until 1858, when they moved onto a farm in Boardman township, where they lived until 18__, when they took up their residence in Elkader. Six children were born to them of whom four are now living: Mrs. Charles Bennington, of Volga, Iowa; Mrs. H. R. Carpenter, of Elkader; Fred F. Branch, of Storm Lake, Iowa; and Mrs. Cora Jewell, of Arlington, Iowa. All of them were present at her deathbed. Her husband, four children, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren are living to mourn the loss of a good wife and a faithful mother, one whose greatness was in her simple life and devotion to the interests of her family.
