Mrs. Julia Ashline Reardon was born in Clinton Co., N.Y., April 15, 1825, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Lenth, at Cresco, Ia., Thursday, Dec. 20, 1906, at 12:45 a.m., at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 5 days.
With her parents she came to Iowa in 185_, where they settled on a farm near National, Clayton County. In 1858 she was united in marriage to John Reardon, taking up their home on a farm near Farmersburg, where they resided until 1895, when death deprived her of her husband. Seven children were born to this family. Two daughters and four sons survive her, one son having died at the age of two years and six months. The remaining children are Mrs. M. R. Seery, of Evanston, Ill.; Eugene and Dr. J. C., of Medi__, S.D.; Mrs. W. C. Lenth, of Cresco; and Daniel and Edward, of Farmersburg.
Mrs. Reardon was a woman of many noble qualities, a good wife and a kind and loving mother, a firm believer in the Catholic church, she ever strived to install the Christian spirit into the home.
The funeral occurred at St. Patrick's church, in Monona, Saturday, Dec. 22nd, at 10 o'clock a.m., Rev. Father Hogan officiating. Burial in Catholic cemetery in Monona.
