Albert Schiefelbein, one of the most prominent residents of Read passed away at his home there Friday, March 10th, after a lingering illness, aged 51 years, 7 months and 15 days. Deceased was born July 24th, 1864, in Garnavillo Township. On February 18th, 1890, he was united in marriage with Miss Maria Heiden. To this union were born six children, of whom three preceded the father in death. About one year ago Mr. Schiefelbein resigned his position as cream hauler and since then his health was failing. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Harry and Arno, and one daughter, Elta, married to Lester Oelke, residing in Farmersburg Township, also numerous relatives in South Dakota. The funeral was held Monday at Clayton Center, Rev. Athenstadt, of the Lutheran Church, officiating. Our sympathy goes out to the sorrowing family. - Nord Iowa Herold.
