Mrs. A. H. Mallory passed away Friday, February 18th, at her home in Mallory township, aged 76 years, 11 months and 20 days, Her death was caused by troubles incident to her advanced age.
Rosa M. Knee was born in Pennsylvania, February 28th, 1840, and came to Delaware county, Iowa, when about fifteen years of age.
February 8th, 1860, she was married to A. H. Mallory, at Colesburg, and has since made her home in Mallory township. Her husband died years ago but she is survived by two sons and four daughters: H. A. and S. G. Mallory, of Mallory township; Mrs. Otto Smith and Mrs. Leta Brown, of Elk township; and Mrs. Effie Lee, of Britt; also two brothers, three sisters and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Mallory was of that sturdy pioneer stock to which we are indebted for the development of our country. Courageous, kindly and cheerful under difficulties she represented a high type of womanhood.
The funeral services were held on Monday, February 21st, Rev. Baldwin officiating, and she was laid to rest in the Brown cemetery.
