Mrs. Danner died at her home on Monday at the age of 98 years. She leaves to mourn her loss two sons and two daughters: John, of St. Paul; George and Sarah at home; Sophie, of Dubuque; besides a host of friends.

Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 9 Mar. 1916. Local News columns.Mrs. Mary Danner, a pioneer of Clayton County, died Saturday at her home in Millville, aged 97 years. The deceased was born in Wittenberg, Germany, May 22nd, 1819. At the age of fourteen she came to America with her parents, the trip being made in a boat. Owing to a stormy sea it took ninety days to make the journey. Her parents settled in Pennsylvania and in 1839 she was united in marriage and continued to live there for a few years. In 1853 she and her husband came to Millville, Clayton County, to make their home. She has since resided there on a farm. A daughter, Mrs. S. Merritt, of Millville, survives. - Der Herold.
