Ingri Moen Johnson was born in Sigdal, Norway, June 3rd, 1829, and died at her home on December 28th, 1915, at the age of 86 years and 6 months. She came to this country in the summer of 1853. On December 11th of the same year she was married to Fingar Johnson. For sixty-two years they were permitted to live and share together both their joys and sorrows. They resided on the Gunder Rugland farm until 1895, when they moved to their home near Norway church.
She leaves to mourn her departure her aged husband, 88 years old and four children - Mrs. T. A. Wold, John, Mrs. Gunder Rugland and Gunhild. Four children have preceded her in death: Henry, Gunhild, Malla and Mrs. Hans Hanson. She also leaves a brother, Ole Moen, of Chicago, a sister, Mrs. Steiner Skinnemoen, of Wendell, Minn., twenty-seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
The funeral took place at the Norway church last Friday. Six of her grandchildren acted as pallbearers and her pastor, Rev. Arvesen, officiated.
The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord: Job 1:21.
Farewell, I now must leave you;
The grief this day doth give
Soon others, too, shall bear.
Be ye to God commended;
In heaven all woe is ended,
And we shall meet in glory there.
