Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 4 May 1916. Strawberry Point columns.

Last Sunday afternoon Mrs. Priscilla Trezona received the sad news of the death of her son, Dr. E. H. Trezona, of Gibson City, Ill., who was accidentally killed. Dr. and Mrs. Trezona and the latter's mother, Mrs. McLean, and Miss Gertrude Shaw, all of Gibson City, were out automobile riding, and in crossing the track just north of that city the car was struck by a south bound Wabash Banner limited. All were killed except Mrs. Trezona, who is now in the Decatur hospital with one foot off, the other limb and one shoulder broken. Up to Wednesday morning she knows nothing of the death of her husband, mother and friend. The remains of Dr. Trezona were brought here on Wednesday morning for burial. Dr. Earl Trezona was born October 15th, 1886, near County Corners Church in Delaware county, Iowa. In 1905 he graduated from the Strawberry Point High School. He spent one year in Ames College and later took a four-year course in Hahnemann Medical College, receiving his degree in 1911. He was married to Miss Flora Gene McLean in Chicago, November 15th, 1911, and has since resided at the following places: Elgin, Iowa, Lamont, Iowa, and Gibson City, Ill., which was to be his permanent residence, and when he met his tragic death, Sunday, April 30th, 1916. The deceased and wife were faithful members of the Presbyterian Church and labors in the Sunday School and other departments of the church. Besides his wife he leaves to mourn his mother, Mrs. Bessie Nichols, of this place, Mrs. Anna Puffett, of Selma, Kan.; John, of Hartley, Iowa; William, of Strawberry Point; Mrs. Nettie Harris, of Galena, Ill.; Lee and Mrs. Mabel Kamoss, of Strawberry Point. Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. C. J. Rose. Six of his friends acted as pallbearers: Earl Dunsmore, of Oelwein; C. C. Treadwell, W. Arnold, P. Preston, H. W. Wheeler and L. Davis, of this place. The remains were laid to rest beside his father in our beautiful cemetery.
