Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 4 May 1916. Farmersburg column.

Ella Irene Butts was born December 28th, 1855, on the homestead in Giard township, and died April 29th, 1916, at McGregor, Iowa, at the age of 61 years, 4 months and one day. On March 19th, 1891, she was united in marriage to Daniel B. Cook, of Farmersburg, and to this union one daughter was born. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, and daughter, Florence B., and three brothers, S. J., of Mason City; Frank C., of Farmersburg, and Elwyn, of Dade City, Fla. The deceased was a patient sufferer for a number of years and for the past year was almost entirely helpless. The funeral was held in the M.E. Church here Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. James B. Bird, of Monona. Burial was in Farmersburg cemetery.
