On Tuesday Gus Wilke received a telegram from Eagle Grove bearing the news that his friend, Karl Keith, of that place, had been killed Monday when his automobile collided with a train on the Great Western railway. A young lady was in the car with him but was unhurt. Some twenty years ago Mr. Keith was a resident of Elkader, being at that time manager of the E. Kaltenbach jewelry store.
