William W. Thompson was born in Wagner township, Clayton County, Iowa, on the 13th day of January, 1868, and was the son of the late William and Barbr_ Thompson. He died at Hot Springs, Ark., Monday morning, November 27th, 1916. The cause of death was Bright's disease. His health had been gradually failing for the past few years.
Up to the year 1891 his life was spent on the old home farm in Wagner township.
From 1891 to 1899 he was associated with his brother Herbran in the live stock business at St. Olaf.
In the year 1901 he located at Hot Springs, where he has conducted a rooming house for the past fifteen years.
He leaves four brothers and one sister, namely: Thomas, of St. Louis, Rachel and Hans, of Hot Springs, and Herbran and Lars, of Farmersburg.
The funeral was held at the Norway Church, December 1st, in the afternoon and was attended by the relatives and many of his old friends, Rev. N. Arveson having charge of the services.
