Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 16 Nov. 1916. Strawberry Point column.
Henry Ward, a farmer residing about six miles southwest of this city, took his life, Sunday morning, by cutting his throat with a razor. Ill health is said to be the cause of the rash act. Mr. Ward appeared to be in good spirit and went about his work as usual and shortly before noon he returned to the house. In the kitchen he grabbed a razor lying on a table and slashed his throat. The deceased was 40 years old and is survived by his wife and two small children, two brothers, William and Robert, and two sisters, Mrs. Tromble, of near Lamont, and Mrs. A. J. Williams, of Lamont. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon.
