Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 29 Jun. 1916. Strawberry Point column.
C. Weig committed suicide last Friday afternoon by cutting his throat at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nick Anton, north of town, where he and his wife were living. He was found in the wood shed unconscious and a doctor was summoned at once, but he lived only a short time. Mr. Weig had been sick for a number of years and it is thought that this was the reason for his taking his life. Funeral services were held at the Anton home, Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Graf. The sympathy of the community is extended to his aged wife and children. Interment took place in the local cemetery.
