Johannah Precilla Connor was born May 28th, 1858, in Watertown, Wis., and passed away at her home on Wednesday morning June 14th, 1916, death being due to heart trouble.
She came to McGregor with her parents, living there two years, then they moved to Elkader, where she spent the remainder of her life.
She was married to J. Cassutt on February 14th, 1889. To this union were born seven children: John Fransis, dying in infancy; Mary Louise, Leo J., George L, Alfred W., Frances M., all at home. Fremont Aloysius died in 1900. She is also survived by two sisters Julia, of Volga, and Sister M. Dubias, of Philadelphia, Pa.; also two brothers, Martin, of Volga, and Eugene, of Elkader.
She was a kind, loving mother, who will be sadly missed by her bereaved family.
Her funeral was held Friday morning at St. Joseph's Church, requiem high mass being conducted by Rev. J. F. Reilly, of this parish, Rev. Horsefield, of McGregor, and Rev. Hethrington, of Volga, interment being in St. Joseph's cemetery.
