Obituary - Mrs. Patrick Hogan
Mrs. Mary Hogan died Monday, Dec. 3d, 1900, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. John Downey, of this place.

Deceased was born in Ireland and came to this country at an early date, and with her husband came to Elkader some forty years since. Mr. Hogan preceded her in death about five years ago.

Two daughters, Mrs. Patrick Fury, of Dubuque, and Mrs. John Downey, survive her.

Deceased was a devoted mother in her family and to her church, and will be missed and mourned.

The funeral took place this morning at St. Joseph's church, Rev. Reilly officiating, and was attended by many sorrowing friends of the family. May she rest in peace.

Note: Her maiden name Mary Ganley appears in the obit of her husband Patrick, and in the 1883 marriage record of her daughter Rose & John Downey.
