Mrs. Mathilda Siebertz, nee Hoecken, was born in Bulhus, Minden, Westphalia, Germany, in 1829, and passed away on Monday evening, Feb. 6th. She came to America in 1853, settling in Guttenberg. In 1855, she removed to Garnavillo, where in 1860 she was united in marriage to John Siebertz, who preceded her in death about sixteen years ago. The deceased had been ailing for some time and about two weeks ago she was taken seriously ill, death resulting on Monday evening. She is survived by her four children: Mrs. E. A. Willman, of Wessington Springs, S.D.; Mrs. Frank Berns, John and William, of this place, besides 11 grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Raedler, were held on Thursday morning at St. Joseph's church and interment in the Catholic cemetery.
