Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 11 May 1911. Local News columns.

The following we take from the Clinton Daily Advertiser:

"At 1:40 o'clock Saturday morning, May 6th, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Behrens, 182 10th Ave., occurred the death of little Josephine, the baby of the household. The little one was 16 months old and had suffered more or less all winter from bronchitis, but was thought to be improving, when she was taken with whooping cough, which was more than the frail little body could stand, and she passed away at the hour above stated. The passing of the little life means the transplanting to the heavenly kingdom, and the tender flower, left but a short time to bloom in this world, is now one of God's bright angels. In addition to the parents, two little brothers are left to mourn the loss of Baby Josephine. The funeral was held from the residence Monday morning, the remains being taken to Strawberry Point, Iowa, for burial."
