After months of suffering death came as a relief to Mrs. Henrietta Eichler, Saturday morning, May 13, 1911. She was born March 27, 1846, in Jodlaken, near Insterburg, Prussia, Germany. In February, 1869, she was united in marriage to August Eichler. In the year 1873, she with her husband came to this country and settled in Pennsylvania, where they lived for five years. Having relatives in St. Sebald, the family came to this place in the year 1878. She was the mother of eight children, August, Henrietta, Fred, Henry, Emilie, Christina, George and August. Four of these have preceded the mother to the better land, August dying in Pennsylvania, Emilie in Chicago and George and August here. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Ploner and Mrs. Wischawed, of Chicago, two sons, Fred, of Waterloo, and Henry, of this place, and three grandchildren. Also one brother, Gustav Schneider, of Waterloo, two step-sisters, Mrs. Maria Rebaschus, of Strawberry Point, and Mrs. Kutschat, of Oelwein. Her oldest brother died the day of her funeral. Her body was laid to rest in the cemetery of St. Sebald.
