Mrs. Henrietta Funk Wenske was born in East Prussia, Germany, September 12,, 1835, and died at Strawberry Point, Iowa, October 8, 1911, at the age of 76 years and 26 days. Death was due to a stroke of paralysis which she received on the evening of October 5th. On October 3, 1858, she was united in marriage to Ludwig Wenske, who preceded her in death 5 years ago. To this union were born four children, all of whom preceded her in death. In 1874 they emigrated to this country and located on a farm north of Strawberry Point, where they lived until 1905, when they moved to town. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church when a child and remained a faithful member throughout her life. The funeral services were held in the Lutheran church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Graf, on Wednesday, October 11, after which she was laid to rest in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
