Mrs. Louise (sic) Blume, who for many years has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Louis Havill, passed away on Saturday morning, after a brief illness. Funeral was held on Monday.

Mrs. Maria Blume died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louis Havill, on Saturday morning, Nov. 25th, after an illness of but a week.
Marie Elizabeth Blume, nee Mueller, was born March 11, 1833, in Suhausen, Altmark, Germany. In 1857 she was united in marriage to Joachin Frederick Blume. Five children were born to them, two dying in infancy. In 1873 the family came to this country and settled on a farm in this vicinity. After the death of her husband, which occurred on the 14th of January, 1883, she came to Garnavillo and lived here until two years ago. She then went to live on a farm near here with the Louis Havill family, where her death occurred on Saturday.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Louise Kurth, Dorothea Wilke and Anna Havill, 22 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, residing in Germany.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul's church, Monday afternoon, Rev. Braun conducting the services.
