Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 2 Nov. 1911. From the Klemme Times.

Mr. Henry Boehm, a respected citizen of Klemme, died at his home in this city Saturday, Oct. 14th, the cause of death being given as arteriosclerosis. He had been sick for some time and was confined to his bed several weeks. His advanced age was against his recovery, and death came to his relief at the time above stated. Funeral services were held from the German Methodist church on Tuesday, Oct. 17th, Rev. H. W. Schneider officiating. Interment was made in Klemme cemetery.

Johannis Christian Heinrich Wilhelm Boehm was born in Mecklenburg, Schwerin, Germany, June 24, 1830, and died October 14, 1911, at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 20 days. He came to America in 1850 first locating at Michigan City, Indiana. Three years later he came to Elkport, Clayton county, Iowa. Three years ago he became a resident of Klemme, where he resided until his death. In the year 1855 he was married to Miss Friederike Koehn. He is survived by his aged wife, two sons, Henry and Wm. J., living in Clayton county, and three daughters - Mrs. August Lau, Sr., Mrs. J. W. Waterman and Mrs. Musfelt - all residing in Klemme; he also leaves twenty grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He received his religious training in the Lutheran church.

The following from out of town were present at the funeral: Wm. Koehn and wife from Elkport, Iowa; Christopher Behrens and wife and son from Volga City, Iowa; Christ Behrens, from Littleport, Iowa; Wm. Boehm, from Elkport, Iowa, and Ben Lau, from Chicago. - Klemme Times.
