Clayton County Herald, Guttenberg, 30 Apr., 1857.

Died - In this town, after a short, but severe illness, Miss Amelia Block, aged 19 years, 1 month and 17 days

Her remains were attended to their last resting place by a large circle of mourning relatives and friends.

"Thou art gone, Amelia,
To thy home, thy holy rest,
From friends who fondly loved thee,
To the mansions of the Blest.

Thy spirit freed, Amelia,
From sorrow, pain and care,
Thou art gone to a purer clime,
To meet thy mother there.

We'll not mourn thee, Amelia,
For our loss is your gain,
But we'll cherish thy memory,
While life itself remain."
