Joseph Cort Limbach, the third oldest child of Hy. Limbach and his wife Amelia (nee Tangeman), was born July 28, 1892, in Garnavillo, and soon after his birth was received into the covenant with God through holy baptism by Rev. Dickoff. He spent his childhood in our midst, attended public school, two years in high school and one year in Business College at Dubuque. He was confirmed at St. Paul's church on Palm Sunday, 1906. In 1913 he went to Canada and remained there for 11 years. After a short time here with his parents he went to Des Moines and later to Chicago where he remained until his death which occurred on Friday, Nov. 19. at 3 p.m., after a short illness of pneumonia. He had reached the age of 34 years, three months and 21 days. Deceased is deeply mourned by his grief stricken parents, Mrs. Gretchen Dettman and Mrs. Edna Schulte of this township, and Miss Charlotte of Omaha, Nebr., and many other relatives and friends. The remains were brought here to the Limbach home and services were held at St. Paul's church Monday afternoon, Rev. K. Wm. Braun officiating.
