Clayton County Register, Thur., 11 Nov. 1926.

Mrs. Edd. Auer, after a lingering illness passed peacefully away at her home in Garnavillo Sunday, Nov. 7, at five o'clock p.m.

She was born in Read township, May 30th, 1859, the daughter of Michael and Sarah Fallon.

Mr. and Mrs. Auer were married May 9th, 1882. She is survived by her husband and four sisters, Miss Ella Fallon and Mrs. Joseph Auer of Garnavillo, Mrs. Thomas Donahoe and Mrs. Edd. Krauel of Elkader.

She was preceded in death some years ago by her mother and father, two sisters and her only brother, M. J.

The funeral service was held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's church at Garnavillo, the Very Rev. Father Scharphoff officiating.

The DOB conflict between that given in the obit & other records should be resolved by an interested researcher.

The Clayton County Death Certificate Index (this site) names her as Lizzie Auer 5/20/1858 - 11/07/1926. Mother's maiden name = Hemesley

Death Certificate image, familysearch.org, gives DOB = 5/30/1858 DOD = 11/07/1926
Burial: Garnavillo Catholic cemetery (St. Joseph's)

The 1885 Iowa State census Garnavillo twp. enumerates Edward (age 28) and his wife Lizzie (age 25), both born in Clayton county.
