Clayton County Register, Thur., 28 Oct. 1926.
Mrs. Ellen Joslin, who was born in England, Oct. 31, 1825, passed away at the county home last Friday, Oct. 22, at the very advanced age of one hundred and one years, eleven months and twenty-one days, lacking just nine days of reaching her one hundred and second birthday.
Deceased was united in marriage in 1871 with Frank Joslin and to this union one son, Percy, was born, who preceded the mother in death sixteen years ago. Since 1888 Mrs. Joslin has been an inmate of the county home and here of the late years the ladies of the Congregational church have been coming to celebrate the birthday of this aged inmate. These events were always a pleasure to the old lady.
Before coming to the county home Mrs. Joslin lived near Millville, Graham and Turkey River.
Always an active woman it was her good fortune to suffer very little illness and her health was remarkable for a woman of her advanced years. She remained active up to a few days before her death.
Funeral services were conducted at the county home Saturday by Rev. C. H. Franke of the Evangelical church and two favorite songs "What a Friend we Have in Jesus," and "Abide With Me," were rendered by Mrs. R. L. Morse.
