Thomas Henry Casey passed away at the hospital at Independence Sunday morning, September 5th, at the age of 31 years, 8 months and 5 days.
He was born in Cox Creek township, December 31st, 1895, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Casey. On February 26th, 1917, he was inducted into the service of his country at Camp Dodge, Iowa, going from there to New York where he became seriously ill and was honorably discharged. On May 14th of the same year he returned home. He has been in ill health for some time.
He leaves to mourn his death his mother, Mrs. Bertha Casey, four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Mae Clinton of Strawberry Point, Mrs. H. W. Plath of Manly, Iowa, Mrs. Louis Dahlstrom of Ossen, Wis., Mrs. Carl Nightingale at home, Ben Casey living with his mother on the home farm. His father preceded him in death four years ago.
Funeral services were held Tuesday forenoon, at 10 o'clock at St. Joseph's church, Rev. Father Taken officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery.
