Elkader Register, Thur., 3 June 1926. Littleport column.

Anna Bauman was born at Pittsfield, Ill., December 18, 1850, and her parents moved to Clayton county when she was about four years old. This was her home until her marriage to Mr. Herman Buschenfeld, January 22, 1884, by Rev. J. C. Theo. Bauer, pastor of the Lutheran church of Elkport.

After the marriage she and her husband moved to Sioux county, Iowa, where they lived several years. Later they moved to Haakon county, S.D., where Mr. Buschenfeld died in 1910.

After her husband's death she spent her time with her daughters and the last few years she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Carrie Osborne at Osborne, Iowa.

She died May 27th, 1926, at 8:10 in the morning, aged 75 years, 5 months and 23 days, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Julia Meyer of Littleport, Iowa. She had come to Littleport for the purpose of consulting Dr. Brown, intending to visit with her two sisters, Mrs. Julia Meyer and Mrs. John Osborne, while here. Her death was very sudden and unexpected following an illness of short duration.

Surviving her are: three daughters, Mrs. Carrie Osborne of Osborne, Ia., Mrs. Emelia Blackmore of Midland, S.D., Mrs. Louise Meyers of Seattle, Wash., two sisters, Mrs. Mary Osborne of Elkport, Ia., and Mrs. Julia Meyer of Littleport. Two brothers, Mr. Ed Bauman of St. Paul, Minn., and Mr. Robert Bauman of Santiago, Cal. Five grandchildren and a host of friends.

A member of the Lutheran church and a devoted wife and mother, she was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was well known, both in this community and in sections of other states, and countless friends mourn her death. The entire community extends deepest sympathy to the sorrowing relatives.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, May 31st, at 1:30 at the Meyer home and at 2 at the Lutheran church of Littleport. Rev. Damm of Elkport delivered a beautiful sermon of consolation and sympathy to the relatives and the local choir very ably rendered three selections. She was buried in the cemetery beside her father and mother, in compliance with her wishes.
