Elkader Register, Thur., 27 May 1926.

George Wareham, for many years a resident of this community, passed away last Sunday afternoon at the family home. He had reached the age of 73 years, 6 months and 1 day. For a number of years he fought valiantly against heart affection to which he finally succumbed.

He was born November 22, 1852, at Garnavillo, Iowa, and all the years of his active life were spent in Clayton county. Fifty-one years ago he was united in marriage to Julia Morrisey. His wife and six surviving children were at his bedside when the end came.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church, Rev. J. P. Taken officiating. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
