Elkader Register, Thur., 6 May 1926.

Sibyl Marguerite, oldest daughter of Otto Meisner and wife, Cleva, nee Perry, was born February 17, 1914, at Paullina, Iowa. She came with her parents to Elkader in October of the same year. About a year after the death of her mother, which occurred October 8, 1922, Sibyl developed leakage of the heart. This later developed into dropsy. She was taken to a hospital in Iowa City on February 11, 1925, and was given special medical care and treatment. While there she became very home sick, so was brought back to the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Perry, on July 29, 1925, where she then made her home.

At all times Sibyl was a patient little sufferer. Although unable to walk, she seemed happy and contented, and always had a pleasant smile for her little friends and visitors, and was very grateful and would appreciate every little deed or word of kindness and love. After much suffering of late she passed away peacefully at five o'clock Saturday evening, May 1st, 1926, at the age of 12 years, 2 months and 14 days.

Those remaining to mourn her death are her father, Otto Meisner, and step-mother, Hilda nee Meyer; three sisters, Eileen Dolores, Dorothy Maxine and Jeanette Lavon; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Perry; grandfather, Edward Meisner; and other relatives and many little friends.

"I cannot say and I will not say
That she is dead, she is just away;
With a cheery smile and a wave of
her hand
She has wandered into a better
land."

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the house and at 2:00 o'clock at the Congregational church, Rev. Franke officiating. Burial was made in the East Side cemetery.
