Elkader Register, Thur., 8 Apr. 1926.

Mrs. Rose A. Lynch passed peacefully away at the Glawe hospital in this city on Tuesday, March 30, at 5 o'clock a.m. She had always enjoyed comparatively good health until about three months ago when she began to complain, and although she received the best of skilled treatment and tender care, the hand of death could not be stayed.

Rose A. Brannon, daughter of Rose and Owen Brannon, was born on the old home farm near St. Rose, in Fayette county on August 16, 1866, her childhood and girlhood being spent on the farm.

On April 27, 1897, she was united in marriage to Michael Lynch at Lawler, Iowa, coming with her husband to the farm in Read township where she resided until her death. Her husband preceded her in death four years ago, a daughter Bernice also preceded her, dying at the age of two years.

She leaves to mourn her loss the following children: Francis, Luella, Clarence and Florence, all of Elkader, and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. John Costigan of Lawler, Iowa; Mrs. D. M. Babeson of Chicago; Mrs. J. C. Uriell of Elkader; T. J. Brannon of Lawler; I. D. Brannon of Waucoma; John Brannon of Waterloo.

She was a member of St. Joseph''s Catholic church, and died comforted and fortified by its last rites; she was also a member of the Ladies' Aid and the Rosary society.

Mrs. Lynch was a woman of a generous and hospitable nature, ever ready to aid when called upon, and for this reason had a host of friends., as is attested to by the large number of people who assembled at her funeral which was held at St. Joseph's church on Thursday morning last, Rev. J. P. Taken officiating. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Among those from out of town in attendance at the funeral were the following: Mrs. John Costigan, Lawler; Mrs. Harold Costigan, Mrs. John Murray, Mrs. Frank Lynch and son of Lawler; Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Dalen of Greeley and Mr. and Mrs. Dyer Hall of Strawberry Point.
