Marvin Jacob George Maiers was born on April 2nd, 1912, in Volga township, Clayton county, and passed away on March 29th, 1926.
On the 28th day of April, 1912, he was brought to the Lord through Holy Baptism, thereby becoming a child and heir of God. In the evening of March 21st he took sick and all was done that was possible, both by the parents and the physician. He seemed to rally, but God's thoughts were not the thoughts of man and he was suddenly growing worse. The doctor was called, and seeing the condition of the child, demanded that the pastor be called who at once left for the home of the sick, only to hear, out of the mouth of the physician, you are too late, he has just passed away. He reached the age of 13 years, 11 months and 27 days. Marvin had spent all his days at home with his parents. He was a boy to whom they looked up to for a bright future, but God had seen what was best both for him and the parents.
Those that are left to mourn him are his parents, eight sisters and two brothers, Alma, Viola, Pearl, Ionia, Florence, Verda, Grace, George, Arthur and Anna Mae, and a host of other relatives and also his friends at school with whom he played. May God, the God of love, strengthen the bereaved and help them bear this cross which has been laid upon their shoulders to bear.
