Henry J. Moeller died at his home on a farm near National, Friday morning, Feb. 12th, at 9:30 o'clock. He had not been in good health for a year. Three months ago he was afflicted with the flu and although he recovered from that disease it left other troubles that ended his life. He had reached the age of sixty-four years, eleven months and twenty-nine days. The funeral was held at National Monday afternoon, Rev. C. Meyer conducting the services. Interment was made in the National cemetery. Mr. Moeller was born Feb. 13, 1861, in Farmersburg township, Clayton county, Iowa. On Dec. 20, 1889, he was united in marriage to Miss Lena Martens. Three children blessed this union, William, now of Monona township, Mrs. Ernest Werger of Farmersburg township, and John, at home. Besides his wife and three children, deceased leaves his mother, Mrs. John Moeller, of Farmersburg, three brothers, John of Emmetsburg, Fred of Farmersburg township, William of Monona township; seven sisters, Mesdames Lula Harnich of Charles City, Dora Frederick of Emmetsburg, Minnie Klinkenburg of Farmersburg, Louisa Smith of Farmersburg, Annie Kahle of Humboldt, S.D., Bertha Dickenson of Emmetsburg, Martha Faber of Ionia, Ia., six grandchildren, and a number of other relatives and many friends.
