Elkader Register, Thur., 25 Feb. 1926.

Regina Lenhart was born January 8th, 1843, in Baden, Germany, and passed away at the home of her son, Joe Oldfather, Thursday, February 18th, 1926, at the ripe age of 82 years, I month and 10 days.

With her parents she arrived in America in the year 1852, and after one year in Freeport, Ill., they moved to the Arlington vicinity, Iowa, where they settled.

Mrs. Oldfather spent over 65 years on the same farm and 70 years in Fayette county.

She was united in marriage to Adam Oldfather, December 9th, 1860, and to this marriage was born thirteen children, eleven sons and two daughters.

One son, Fred, preceded his mother in death. He died Oct. 14, 1907, in North Carolina.

A faithful and loving mother devoted to her home and loved ones. A good neighbor and friend. We of this day are reaping the benefits of the hardships of such Pioneers.

She leaves to mourn her loss, two daughters; Mrs. Mary Copeland of Valentine, Nebraska, and Mrs. Anna Jelling of Wadena, Iowa: ten sons, Martin of Des Moines, Iowa, Charlie and August of Wadena, Joe of Volga, Walter of Marion, Iowa, Henry of Oelwein, Iowa, George, Frank, Richard and Louie all of Arlington and Volga; forty grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren; one brother, William Lenhart of Decorah, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Kate Flower of Arlington, three brothers, Martin, Chas. and Fred having preceded her in death; and other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Joe Oldfather home at 1:30 p.., Sunday, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church officiating, who took for his text Psalms 85:14, "A Mother's Departure".

Music being furnished by Mesdames Chas. Eckhart, Frank Thompson, Messrs. Henry Nuss, and F. Standt, accompanied by Miss Gertrude Eckhart. The music was beautifully rendered. Interment was made in the Taylorville cemetery.
