Bernhard Mueller, who had been in poor health for some time, passed away at his home in Guttenberg on Friday afternoon, February 12, 1926, at one o'clock, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 25 days. Deceased was born in Coblenz, Germany, in October 17, 1855, coming to America with his parents soon after his birth and settling in Grant county, Wisconsin, where he lived until the year 1919, when he came to Guttenberg, Iowa, (several words unreadable) -der of his life. On December 2_, 1873, he was united in marriage with Miss Eva Liegscheid at British Hollow, Grant county, Wisconsin. While a resident of Guttenberg, Mr. Mueller was engaged as a salesman for clothing and nursery stock. During his illness he was a patient sufferer,, and had hopes for recovery until the Angel of Death called him to the Great Beyond. All that loving hands could do and medical aid could suggest was done for him to ward off death, but all to no avail. Mr. Mueller was a man of kind disposition. His death is deeply mourned by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Ida Wagner, of Forrest Lake, Minn., and Mrs. Jacob Ackerman of Waterloo, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Dera Stewart of Platteville, Wis., and numerous other relatives and friends, by whom he will be sadly missed. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church in this city on Monday morning, February 15, 1926. The body was laid to rest in Mt. Olivet cemetery. The funeral was largely attended.
