Sarah Jessie Foster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Foster, 863 West fifth street, Dubuque, Iowa, passed away at Finley hospital, Thursday, February 18, 1926. She was removed to the hospital on Friday, February 12th and underwent an operation on the following morning.
Jessie was born on January 23, 1903, in Elkader, Iowa, where she lived until 1920, when she moved with her parents to Dubuque, Iowa, and had since resided.
At the age of eleven she joined the Congregational church in Elkader and in Dubuque she was a member of the First Congregational church.
During the years of her life Jessie had been a patient sufferer, as she had been disabled since childhood.
Left to survive her are her parents, two sisters, Claribel and Rebecca, and a brother, Fremont, all of Dubuque.
Services were held in the home Sunday afternoon at three o'clock, with Rev. Vinton Lee officiating. The remains were brought to Elkader, Iowa, Monday morning and taken to the home of her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Marshal Prouty, where friends gathered for a few hours.
Burial was Monday at one o'clock at Illyria, Rev. Ernest J. Starr officiating.
